<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device that makes it difficult for a second catalyst carrier to be deteriorated so as to retain over a long term the effect of reducing the amount of emission of harmful matter to be emitted into the atmosphere immediately after staring an engine.SOLUTION: A first exhaust gas passage permits passage of exhaust gas emitted from an engine 2 to pass through a second catalyst carrier 13 and a first catalyst carrier 12. A second exhaust gas passage allows the exhaust gas emitted from the engine 2 to detour the second catalyst carrier 13 and pass through the first catalyst carrier 12. The first exhaust gas passage and the second exhaust gas passage are switched by moving the second catalyst carrier 13.</p> |
