An atherectomy device (100) is disclosed herein. The atherectomy device (100) includes a first drive shaft (110), a second drive shaft (114), a handle assembly (102), and a cutting member (118). The first drive shaft (110) extends distally from the handle assembly (102) and includes the cutting member (118) mounted on a distal end region (109) of the first drive shaft. The second drive shaft (114) extends distally from the handle assembly (102) to a distal end (115) of the second drive shaft such that both the first and the second drive shafts (110, 114) are rotatable relative to the handle assembly (102), and the first drive shaft (110) is rotatable independent of the second drive shaft (114).
