PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide microwave forceps for sealing various types of tissue.SOLUTION: A microwave forceps for sealing tissue comprises: at least one shaft member 12 having an end effector assembly 400 disposed at a distal end thereof, the end effector assembly including opposing jaw members 410, 420 movable from a first position in spaced relation relative to one another to at least one subsequent position at which the jaw members cooperate to grasp tissue therebetween, each of the jaw members including sealing surfaces 412, 422, at least one of the sealing surfaces including a microwave antenna assembly 401 coupled to a source of microwave energy. |
