PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for therapy/prevention or diagnosis of pre-eclampsia or eclampsia in a subject.SOLUTION: A method for therapy or prevention of pre-eclampsia or eclampsia in a subject comprises a step of administering compound capable of binding to a soluble Flt-1 receptor (sFlt-1) to the subject, the administration having enough time and amount for therapy or prevention of pre-eclampsia or eclampsia in the subject. The method is further a method for diagnosis of a subject as having pre-eclampsia or eclampsia or as having a tendency of expressing the same, which comprises measuring the polypeptide level of sFlt-1, VEGF, or PlGF in a sample obtained from the subject.
