PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) with high channel estimation accuracy, in an orthogonal uplink of a wireless communication system.SOLUTION: A method of wireless multi-carrier communication divides a plurality of sub-carriers 110 on an uplink into a plurality of non-overlapping groups 106, allocates a plurality of user devices to one of the divided groups. A user device is configured to hop between frequencies within an allocated group, independently of other groups, for a predetermined hopping duration 102, and estimates a channel with a plurality of contiguous sub-carriers 108 within a group using a pilot symbol. The plurality of user devices share a single time-frequency allocation for the group, and are configured to transmit within the allocated time-frequency allocation. |
