<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can maintain communication performance of a radio communication module while miniaturization is achieved.SOLUTION: A radio communication module 100 includes: a circuit board 101; and an antenna 103 on the circuit board 101. The radio communication module 100 extends upward along a first side wall section 33R while it is orthogonal to a control board 54 stored on a lower side than a transportation guide section. A transportation section includes: a separation roller 48 arranged in the center in a housing 30; and a drive shaft 48S which is arranged on the same axis as the separation roller 48 and transmits driving force to the separation roller 48 from a driving source 40M. The drive shaft 48S is installed only on a second side wall section 33L side from a vicinity of an end face 48R of the first side wall section 33R side of the separation roller 48. A reading section extends to the side wall sections in a longitudinal direction. The radio communication module 100 is positioned on an upstream side from the reading section in a transportation direction of a medium.</p> |
