PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell of "lateral-striped type" in which a fuel electrode buried in a recess formed on the principal surface of a support substrate does not easily come off.SOLUTION: A fuel electrode 20 is buried in each of a plurality of recesses 12 formed on the principal surface of a flat plate-like support substrate 10. Each recess 12 has a flat bottom wall composed of a material of the support substrate 10 and a side wall closed in a circumferential direction and composed of a material of the support substrate 10 over the entire circumference. A portion of each recess 12 where the surface of the bottom wall and the surface of the side wall intersect is rounded by chamfering over the entire circumference of the side wall. Over the entire circumference of the side wall, the surface of the side wall is inclined so as to approach the center of the recess 12 in correspondence with an increase in distance from the principal surface of the support substrate 10 in the depth direction of the recess 12 when viewed from the depth direction of the recess 12, and the magnitude of a sharp angle formed by the surface of the side wall and the principal surface of the support substrate 10 in a portion where the surface of the side wall and the principal surface of the support substrate 10 intersect is 30-85°. |
