SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF ACTUATING MEMS DISPLAY ELEMENTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide apparatus and methods of actuating MEMS display elements, which are configured to minimize charge buildup and differential aging in writing display data to the MEMS display elements.SOLUTION: Methods include writing data with opposite polarities, and periodically releasing and/or actuating MEMS display elements during a display updating process. Actuating the MEMS elements with potential differences higher than those used during normal display data writing is also utilized.
