摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cutting tool in which a hard coating layer exhibits excellent peeling resistance and chipping resistance by a high-speed intermittent heavy cutting process.SOLUTION: A surface coated cutting tool includes a lower layer containing a Ti compound layer, an intermediate layer containing anα-AlOlayer, and an upper layer containing theα-AlOlayer containing Zr. A top surface layer of the lower layer contains oxygen of 0.5-3 atom%. Total frequencies of inclination angle between a normal line of (0001) surface of AlOcrystal particle of the intermediate layer and a normal line of a tool base body surface has a maximum peak at inclination angle section of 0-10 degrees, with its frequency rate being 50-70%. Total frequencies of inclination angle between a normal line of (0001) surface of AlOcrystal particle of the intermediate layer and an entire upper layer and a normal line of the tool base body surface has a maximum peak at inclination angle section of 0-10 degrees, with its frequency rate being 75% or higher. The interior of crystal particle of 70 area% or more of the intermediate layer and the entire upper layer is divided by a crystal lattice interface represented by at least oneΣ3.</p>
