<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoding and decoding apparatus and a method therefor.SOLUTION: An image decoding method includes: a step of adjusting a weighting factor of an offset, which is calculated with a pixel value of a block having a pixel value similar to the pixel value of a block of interest among blocks included in a restored previous image, adaptively to the number of bits expressing each pixel of a current image while using an equation of O'=O*2, where O' represents a weighting factor having been adjusted, O represents a weighting factor to be adjusted, N represents the number of bits expressing each pixel of a current image, and M represents a predetermined number; and a step of restoring a predicted pixel value of the block of interest using the weighting factor having been adjusted. Each step is executed by a processor.</p> |
