The purpose of the present invention is to provide an enzyme involved in a glycyrrhizin biosynthesis system, a gene for the enzyme, and a method for utilizing the enzyme or the gene for the purpose of providing glycyrrhizin in a steady and sustainable manner and in a large amount. A glucuronyl transferase having an activity of further transferring glucuronic acid to a hydroxy group located at position-2 of glucuronic acid in an oleanane-type triterpenoid monoglucuronide is identified, and the enzyme, a gene for the enzyme and a method for utilizing the enzyme or the gene are provided.
