Provided are an apparatus and a method for controlling the pressure of a heating furnace. The apparatus for controlling the pressure of the heating furnace includes: a damper opening value control unit to produce a damper opening value based on the difference between the internal pressure of the heating furnace and an operating furnace pressure; and a bias generating unit to generate a bias based on at least one of an amount of fuel used to maintain the temperature of the heating furnace, a radiation amount of air remaining after combustion, and an amount of air diluted to adjust the temperature of exhaust gas discharged from the heating furnace after the combustion. The damper opening value control unit controls the opening value of the damper based on a value obtained by adding the bias to the damper opening value from a time point at which at least one of a charging door and an extraction door is opened. The apparatus for controlling the pressure of the heating furnace further includes a bias outputting unit to set the bias generated from the bias generating unit to ″0″ after a preset delay from the time point in which the charging door is closed, thereby stabilizing the furnace pressure through the control of the furnace pressure together with the amount of the used fuel, the radiation amount of the air, and the radiation amount of the air, and minimizing the loss of diffused heat resulting from the variation of the furnace pressure when the charging door and the extraction door are closed and opened and the loss of heat resulting from the introduced air.
