A pump comprising a casing 18 and a suction guide 34, wherein the radial position of the casing relative to the suction guide and/or their clearance is adjustable via a device 100 inserted therebetween. The device may have one or more through holes in order to be fastened to the casing. It may also have a body (102, fig. 4) and a tapered foot (104, fig. 4), the latter being inserted between the casing and the suction guide. The tapered foot preferably projects perpendicularly from the body and may have two or more feet itself, for abutting the suction guide. The casing may have a tapered rim at its opening for receiving the tapered foot of the device. The device, as well as methods for adjusting the clearance between opposed surfaces of two components of an apparatus and the relative radial position of these components by using at least one such device, preferably a plurality thereof, are also claimed. |
