PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the same slow start function as that during double-traveling even during single-traveling. SOLUTION: A hydraulic shovel moves forward and backward by means of a travel unit using left and right traveling motors 4, 5 as driving sources, and a travel control device of this hydraulic shovel delays response of the traveling motors 4, 5 to the operation of travel remote control valves 6, 7 during traveling and perform a delay processing to make a lower structure slowly start. The travel control device is constituted in order to select one of two kinds of delay processing characteristics according to double-traveling and single-traveling such that the rise of starting speed becomes same at a both-traveling time when the left and right traveling motors 4, 5 are driven simultaneously and in the same direction and at a single-traveling time when only one of the traveling motors 4, 5 is driven.
