PURPOSE: A water pump for a vehicle is provided to minimize the abrasion of driving parts since at the initial start of an engine, the circulation of cooling water is blocked and thus the temperature of engine oil rapidly increases. CONSTITUTION: A water pump(100) for a vehicle comprises a pulley(130), a brake pad(210), a clutch disc(220), a hub(230), a return spring(240), a field coil(260) and a main shaft(270). The pulley comprises a through hole and a clutch chamber. The clutch chamber is formed on the rear along the circumferential surface of the through hole. The clutch disc is arranged in the clutch chamber to face the brake pad. The hub is coupled to the through hole of the pulley through a pulley bearing(133). The hub is connected to the clutch disc through a plurality of spring pins(231). The return spring is mounted on the spring pin between the clutch disc and the hub. The return spring applies resilient force to the clutch disc. The field coil is wrapped with a coil case(261) and a cover(263). |
