The present invention provides a method for automatically setting the focus as a user′s eye changes and an apparatus therefor. The auto-focus setting method, according to the present invention, comprises: generating distance data which has calculated distance between the user′s eye and a focal point stared by the user′s eye; and determining a focal plane including the focal point based on the distance data.
