The present invention relates to a method to produce a poly hydroxybutyrate (PHB)-poly hydroxyvalerat (PHV) copolymer with a high 3-hydroxy valerate content using a recombinant E.coli introducing a propionyl-coA transferase gene and a poly hydroxy alkanoate (PHA) synthesizing gene, and the recombinant E.coli. The present invention can be useful for mass producing PHBV with high content of 3HV capable of improving problematic properties of bioplastic like properties of existing polyhydroxybutyratea which is hard and easy to be broken.
