PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of molding a tire component capable of easily preventing a shift and dropping of a sheet-shaped material, and a tire molding drum. SOLUTION: A plurality of spiky projections 24 are formed on an outer peripheral face 20A of a drum body 20 of the tire molding drum 10, and are inclined to the normal rotating direction of the tire molding drum 10. Thus, carrying speed V2 of the sheet-shaped material 12 is set slower than rotating speed V1 to the normal rotating direction of the tire molding drum 10 (V1>V2), so as to apply tension to the sheet-shaped material 12. As a result, tips 24A of the spiky projections 24 stick in a back face 12A of the sheet-shaped material 12 and the spiky projections 24 bite into the sheet-shaped material 12.
