An objective of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a polarizing plate which suppresses a bubble from occurring when a polarizing plate is created by bonding a polarizer and a transparent protective film through an active energy beam curable adhesive. In addition, an objective of the present invention is to provide an optical film including the polarizing plate obtained from the manufacturing method. The method of manufacturing a polarizer includes: manufacturing a polarizer by dyeing, crosslinking and elongating a polyvinyl alcohol based film and then drying the film; and interposing an active energy beam curable adhesive layer at a side of the polarizer and laminating a transparent protective film, wherein the drying is performed by returning the polyvinyl alcohol based film, to which dyeing, crosslinking and elongating is performed, in a predetermined direction by a plurality of rolls while heating the polyvinyl alcohol based film, and the ratio (L1/W1) of a distance (L1) between the rolls and a width (W1) of the polyvinyl alcohol based film just before drying is 0.4 or less. |
