SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING STEREO-SCOPIC IMAGE OR VIDEO AND METHOD FOR ACQUIRING DEPTH INFORMATION

Disclosed are a system for producing a stereoscopic image and a method for acquiring depth information. More specifically, the system for producing a stereoscopic image comprises: a detecting unit to detect a misalignment area from results of stereo alignment performed based on color images acquired by multiple color cameras to photograph certain scenes; an extracting unit to extract misalignment depth information corresponding to the misalignment area within depth images acquired from one or more depth cameras to photograph the scenes; and a supplementing unit to fill a portion of the detected misalignment area corresponding to the extracted misalignment depth information using the extracted misalignment depth information, and fill the rest of the detected misalignment area based on the misalignment depth information used to fill the portion, wherein a stereoscopic image is produced based on the depth information for each scene acquired by the supplementing unit.
