Disclosed is a method for cleaning synthetic diamond which can remove a graphite-based metastable state. First, a synthetic diamond is generated by synthesizing diamond, and surface residue of the synthetic diamond is removed. Then, for removing the surface residue of the synthetic diamond, after the first oxidation of the graphite-based metastable state formed on the surface of the synthetic diamond and destabilization of the same,the destabilized graphite-based metastable state is separated from the surface of the synthetic diamond through second oxidation. Accordingly, by washing the synthetic diamond using an oxidizer, the graphite and graphite-based metastable state of the synthetic diamond can be removed, and the synthetic diamond can be maintained as a nonconductor and can have a surface color with a high chroma. |
