SAFETY UNIT FOR OVERCHARGE OF BATTERY

Disclosed is an overcharge protection device for a battery. The overcharge protection device includes: a safety fuse connected to the battery; and a safety circuit which is connected to the battery and to the safety fuse in parallel and comprises a short-circuit switch, installed close to a side where the battery is swollen. In a normal condition, the short-circuit switch is open. When the battery is swollen, the short-circuit switch is closed by the battery, which is swollen, and constitutes a closed circuit with the battery and the safety fuse.
