The present disclosure is directed towards a method and system for providing content related to a displayed program. The method and system of the present disclosure includes a second screen application for a second screen device, such as a tablet (e.g., iPad) that provides rich content experiences in conjunction with displayed primary content (e.g., a movie from a Blu-Ray disc). The second screen displays deep dive metadata, alternate scenes, other companion video material, or other related information that is synched to the main displayed program without disrupting a user's program viewing experience.
