The bridge comprises a contact surface supported by a decking mounted on a superstructure 14, the superstructure including mounting elements 15 for engaging the decking. The decking comprises a fibre reinforced polymer composite panel 5 comprising a plate, with an upper side and an underside, and a plurality of first and second beams, each beam having an upper face which is integral with the underside of the plate. One or more first beams are provided with an aperture extending between their side faces through which a second beam can extend. The panel further comprises attachment portions for connecting to the superstructure and a layer of wear-resistant material on its upper side. The mounting elements preferably comprise projections which extend upwards from the superstructure and which are received in sockets formed in the panels. The first and second beams are preferably arranged in parallel arrays with sockets accommodated in cavities formed between beams. |
