An optical touch system includes a display apparatus and an optical pen. The display apparatus includes a display panel displaying an image, a touch substrate, a protection layer, and a coordinate output part. The optical pen emits light to the display apparatus, and provides information on reflection light reflected in the display apparatus from the emitted light. The touch substrate is arranged on the display panel, and is equipped with multiple optical grooves where a reflection amount of the emitted light is respectively different from each other. Optical grooves aligned in the first direction from among the optical grooves each have different depth. Optical grooves aligned in the second direction from among the optical grooves each have a different-area medium contact surface. The protection layer is arranged on the touch substrate. The coordinate output part outputs a touch coordinate based on the information on the reflection light.
