An organic EL element includes a substrate 20, a lower electrode 21, an upper electrode 26, and an organic layer 22. The organic layer 22 is provided between the upper and lower electrodes 21, 26. The upper and lower electrodes 21, 26 and the organic layer 22 are stacked on the substrate 20. A hole injection layer 23 and a light emitting layer 24 in the organic layer 22 are formed by using an electrospray method, and have a film-like structure in which fine particles are continuously bonded together.

1. An organic EL element, comprising:
a substrate; a pair of electrode layers formed by a lower electrode and an upper electrode; and an organic layer, wherein the organic layer is provided between the pair of electrode layers, the pair of electrode layers and the organic layer are stacked on the substrate, the organic layer includes a light emitting layer that emits light in response to application of a voltage, and at least one layer included in the organic layer has a film-like structure in which organic fine particles each having a particle core with a particle size of 100 nm or less are continuously bonded together.
