An image forming apparatus in the present invention can stop the rotation of a guide roller guiding a transferring belt by a disconnecting device in case of checking a developer on the transferring belt by a sensing unit, to reduce checking errors caused by the vibration of the guide roller to more accurately check the developer on the transferring belt.
