The present invention relates to a skin external composition for inhibiting the generation of advanced glycation end products comprising a Quercus glauca extract, methyl gallate, or cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as active ingredients. More specifically, the composition of the present invention inhibits the generation of the advanced glycation end products and has an effect on the reduction of skin wrinkles through mechanisms of protecting fibroblasts from damage of cells. Also, the present invention has no cytotoxicity and cutaneous side effects, thereby being applied to a cosmetic or a medicine safely.
