Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent device having high external quantum efficiency and long emission life. Also disclosed are an illuminating device and a display, each comprising such an organic electroluminescent device. The organic electroluminescent device is characterized by comprising at least an anode and a cathode on a supporting substrate, while having at least one light-emitting layer between the anode and the cathode. The organic electroluminescent device is also characterized by containing a polymer which at least partially contains a compound A having a partial structure represented by the general formula (a) below and a reactive group, and is obtained by polymerizing the compound A through the reactive group. (In the formula, Ar1 and Ar2 respectively represent an aromatic ring.); |

1. An organic electroluminescent element comprising:
a substrate having thereon an anode, a cathode, and at least one layer between the anode and the cathode, wherein the at least one layer comprises at least one emission layer, and the at least one layer comprises a compound A and a polymer prepared by polymerizing the compound A via a reactive group, provided that the compound A contains a partial structure represented by Formula (b) and the reactive group in the molecule: wherein, Ar1 represents a carboline ring or a dibenzofuran ring, and the reactive group is represented by any one of Formulas (3) to (5): wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and Q represents a divalent linking group represented by any one of Formulas (c), (d), and (e) or any one of the plural combinations of Formulas (c), (d), and (e): wherein R1 and R2 each represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and Cy represents a three membered or a four membered cyclic either group, provided that “n” is an interger of 0 to 2. |
