The present invention relating to a power generating apparatus comprises an expander; a power generator having a rotor driven by the expander, and a stator provided on the outer side of the diameter of the rotor; and a casing having an expander accommodating chamber to accommodate the expander and a power generator accommodating chamber to accommodate the power generator. The casing includes a first connecting unit which connects an expanding chamber which gradually expands an operating medium by the expander in the expander accommodating chamber and a front unit of the power generator positioned closer to the expander than the power generator in the power generator accommodating chamber; and a second connecting unit which connects the front unit of the power generator and a part that is lower than the expanding chamber and adjacent to the expanding chamber with respect to the power generator.
