<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of easily grasping/detecting a progressed state of biofouling on the surface of a semipermeable membrane before the progressed state of biofouling is grasped/detected from operation data such as the pressure difference, permeability and separability of the semipermeable membrane.SOLUTION: A method for generating freshwater is provided, in which the water 1 to be treated is treated with the semipermeable membrane 3 and is separated into permeated water 4 and concentrated water 5. When whether the semipermeable membrane 3 is cleaned or a cleaning condition of the semipermeable membrane 3 and/or a chemical injection condition are determined, the ATP (adenosine-5'-triphosphate) value thereof is measured by using the luciferase which exhibits the emitted light quantity equal to or higher than 100 RLU when the ATP value is 10M concentration. When the operation standard index value derived from the obtained ATP value exceeds a predetermined value, the semipermeable membrane 3 is cleaned or the cleaning condition thereof and/or the chemical injection condition are made rigid.</p> |
