PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling liquid capable of reducing cooling loss and increasing an engine to an optimal temperature quickly by increasing kinetic viscosity of the cooling liquid just after operation of the engine, and capable of cooling the engine efficiently to prevent overheat by reducing viscosity during a steady operation.SOLUTION: There is a cooling liquid composition containing alkyl ether represented by the general formula (1) and water and/or a water-soluble organic solvent. R-O-An-H (1), where R represents a linear or branched saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group or a linear or branched unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 8 to 30 carbon atoms, A represents ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide, and n represents an average addition mole number of ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide.
