The present invention relates to Cirsium setidens Nakai extract having a cholesterol lowering effect, and more specifically, provides Cirsium setidens Nakai extract having a cholesterol lowering effect obtained by drying and finely cutting Cirsium setidens Nakai, filtering extract liquid extracted by using ethanol as an extraction solvent, and vacuum-evaporating the filtered product. Therefore, by manufacturing Cirsium setidens Nakai extract having a cholesterol lowering effect, it is non-toxic, harmless, and reduces concentration of cholesterol, thereby being effectively used for materials of health food and pharmaceutical compositions.
