PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device in which a mobile body, which enters a movable area of an engagement portion that moves accompanying scanning of a carriage and engages with the engagement portion, can be prevented from being pushed out of the movable area by pressing force accompanying the scanning of the carriage.SOLUTION: The recording device comprises: a carriage 15; a recording head held by the carriage 15; an engagement portion 51 that moves accompanying scanning of the carriage 15; a mobile body 70 that can move between a retreating position to be set outside a movable area of the engagement portion 51 and an engagement position to be set in the movable area; and a first regulating portion 81 that regulates the moving range of the mobile body 70. The first regulating portion 81, which is extended in a direction of inclining toward both a scanning direction X and a retreating direction -D going from the engagement position toward the retreating position in the movable area, when the mobile body 70 receives pressing force accompanying the scanning of the carriage 15 through the engagement portion 51, regulates movement of the mobile body 70 toward the retreating position. |
