<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction in size and weight and improvement in driving performance of a driving device in which a rotary optical element is put in and out of a photographic optical path and rotated in an inserted state.SOLUTION: A driving device for a rotary optical element includes: a driving rotary member and a driven rotary member which are annular including an optical axis in the center; a holding member for the rotary optical element which is supported by the driving rotary member and driven rotary member respectively; insertion control means for restricting rotation of the holding member at an insertion position on an optical path; separation control means for allowing the holding member to a complete separation position from the optical path at a specific position in a rotating direction and also restricting rotation of the holding member at a restricted separation position where a quantity of movement to a separating direction is small not at the specific position. The driving device for the rotary optical element is switched between a state in which an annular spring including the optical axis in the center is inserted between the driving rotary member and driven rotary member to impart rotational resistance, and the holding member is inserted and extracted without rotating the driven rotary member as the driving rotary member is rotated, and a state in which the driving rotary member and driven rotary member are rotated in one body.</p> |
