<p>The invention relates to a latent heat accumulator (10) comprising a housing (12) containing a storage medium (30) which exhibits latent heat phase transition and comprising at least one first heat exchanger arrangement (100) which is in contact with the storage medium (30), wherein the at least first heat exchanger arrangement (100) has a first heat carrier medium (102), and wherein an electric heating unit (40) is provided which is in contact with the storage medium (30) and which serves for heating the storage medium (30). The electric heating unit (40) is, in terms of its design, considerably overdimensioned for regular operation in the storage tank (10) in relation to other heat exchanger arrangements (200, 300) which introduce heat into the latent heat accumulator (10) during normal operation.
