PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat wire for a screen printing metal gauze which has a low net thickness and a small bore diameter, keeps its size difficult to deviate, and is equipped with a porosity necessary for printing, a flat wire for a filter metal gauze which has an extremely small bore diameter and is equipped with a filtration performance necessary for filtration, flat wire for a screening metal gauze that has favorable screening performance and an exact hole size with no deviation, and a metal gauze using the flat wire.SOLUTION: The present wire material for a metal gauze is a flat wire 1, and the flat wire is so constituted as to have an aspect ratio of 1.5 or more represented by w/t, where w is width, and t is thickness in the cross section, and have a tensile strength of 750 MPa or more and an elongation percentage of 10% or more. The flat wire can be almost rectangular in the cross section with a pair of facing curved parts, which can be swelled outward, and the cross section has a pair of facing flat parts and a pair of facing curved parts, which can be swelled outward by connecting the flat parts. |
