PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine the value of reasonable time step of simulation for a traffic simulating technique.SOLUTION: To calculate the occupied ratio of a road, the top K (1000 is chosen as K, for instance) in occupied ratio among the intersections in the area to be simulated are selected for each point of synchronization timing. The occupied ratio is calculated according to, for instance, the vehicle-occupied ratio of roads directly leading to the intersections. More specifically, the occupied ratio is calculated as the total of quotients of division of the numbers of vehicles travelling individual roads directly leading to the intersections by the road lengths. And the time step of simulation is determined as a monotonous decreasing function of, more preferably a value in inverse proportion to, the occupied ratio. |
