PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for performing high precision color shift control while maintaining interchangeability with a conventional exposure head.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 101 for use in forming an image by exposing with individual colors in accordance with image data and expressing, with plural dots, gradation equivalent to one pixel of the image, includes: exposure heads 110-113 having light-emitting elements for performing exposure; and a head control part 107 for generating exposure data for turning on the individual light-emitting elements of the exposure heads and a strobe signal for controlling exposure time, and controlling exposure of individual pixels. Further, the head control part has processing functions of: changing a width of strobe time periodically in line units of the strobe signal, in order to adjust the exposure time; and position-shifting exposure data at a given position in the line units in a secondary scanning direction. |
