For QoS guaranteed service, a certain degree of packet loss is allowed, and the degree of allowable loss depends on the used CODEC or the required level of QoS. The present invention relates to a packet scheduler which is capable of supporting differentiated packet loss rates by traffic flow in a packet node such as switch or router and the like which can support QoS. The present invention includes: a packet discard module for discarding packets which exceed a delay limit which is allowed in a scheduler; a timestamp adjustment module for adjusting a timestamp value of the first packet of each traffic flow queue which does not exceed the delay limit to a timestamp adjustment ratio of flow which the packet belongs to; a minimum timestamp search module for searching a packet which has the minimum timestamp value among the packets which have an adjusted timestamp; and a packet transmission module for transmitting the searched minimum timestamp packet to an output link. Therefore, the present invention can improve a scheduler resource usage by supporting an acceptable packet loss rate differentially required by traffic flow or class by improving weakness of the existing technologies. |
