PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer member of a wheel bearing, and a method of manufacturing the same, capable of reducing a weight and a dimension of the outer member, reducing material loss, improving a yield rate, further improving strength and durability of the outer member, and securing a life of a bearing by improving rolling fatigue strength of the outer member.SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing an outer member of an inner ring rotation-type wheel bearing, fiber low in the direction in parallel with a rolling direction of a plater material as a material of the outer member 22, is determined as a load region of a bearing portion when the outer member 22 is formed by deep drawing from the plate material, and an outer diameter portion side of the outer member 22 is simultaneously cooled in high frequency hardening of an outside rolling face of the outer member 22. |
