PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device in which unfixed toner is prevented from being scattered when an unfixed toner image is transferred onto a recording medium and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A transfer device 100 includes a revolving and moving endless intermediate transfer belt 25, a backup roll 31 provided in press-contact with the inner peripheral surface of the intermediate transfer belt 25, and a secondary transfer roll 33 provided in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the intermediate transfer belt 25 in a position facing the backup roll 31. The transfer device 100 has a first pressurization section Np1 for contact with the secondary transfer roll 33 with a first pressure from the backup roll 31 and a second pressurization section Np2 for contact with the secondary transfer roll 33 with a second pressure smaller than the first pressure on the upstream side of the first pressurization section in the moving direction of the intermediate transfer belt 25. |
