<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium conveying device that can cause an appropriate adsorption force to act on a recording medium with every width without problems of cost increase, complexity of a mechanism, and size increase of an image forming apparatus as a whole; and an image forming apparatus including the recording medium conveying device.SOLUTION: A recording medium conveying device comprises a plurality of suction ports to cause an adsorption force to act on a recording medium; and at least a part of the plurality of suction ports is an indirect suction port that is provided separated in a normal direction from a recording medium conveyance surface. The recording medium conveying device further includes an external opening that introduces an air to be sucked into the indirect suction port, and an in-plane ventilation path that communicates the indirect suction port with the external opening to ventilate the air introduced from the external opening in an in-plane direction of the recording medium.</p> |
