PURPOSE: A method for remotely converting UICC(Universal Integrated Circuit Cards) and a mobile communication device therefor are provided to rapidly converting the UICC of the mobile communication device. CONSTITUTION: A conversion control server(2) determines the opening state of a converted UICC. When the converted UICC is not opened, the conversion control server transmits an opening request to an OTA(Over The Air) server of a mobile communication company related to the converted UICC. The conversion control server receives a new telephone number from the OTA server which receives the opening request. The conversion control server stores the new telephone number in the converted UICC.
