PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technologies including devices, methods, and computer readable media related to acceleration benefit estimation.SOLUTION: Data centers 205 may identify, with an application selector 214, applications that may benefit from Programmable Hardware Accelerators (PHAs), and test the identified applications by running accelerated versions 232 thereof, i.e., versions that use one or more identified PHAs 171, and comparing, with a performance comparator 221, performance of the accelerated versions to reference versions 231, i.e., versions that do not use the one or more identified PHAs. Data centers may report comparison results (performance benefit estimation data 252) to data center customers 201 to encourage customer adoption of PHAs. |
