SKID BUTTON AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a skid button having a structure made up of an upper block and a lower block which is configured so that portions of these blocks are less susceptible to falling due to thermal shock and other impact load or the like, from a steel material to be heated; and a method for manufacturing the skid button.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for manufacturing a metallic skid button used for a skid beam for transporting a steel material to be heated in a heating furnace. The skid button includes: an upper block 10A brought into contact with the steel material to be heated; and a lower block 20A to be attached to a beam body P of the skid beam. The method includes: forming the lower block 20A so that a projection 21A protruded toward the upper block 10A is formed at a position adjacent to the upper block 10A; and fusing the upper block 10A on both surfaces a top surface 15A of the projection 21A and an inside surface 16A thereof.
