PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an extension-side damping force and to decrease a pressure-side damping force even when an amount of electric current flowing to a coil is the same, with respect to improvement of a magnetic viscous fluid buffer.SOLUTION: A magnetic viscous fluid buffer D1 includes a piston 3 held by a piston rod 2 coming in and out to a cylinder 1, a rod-side chamber r1 and a piston-side chamber r2 defined in the cylinder 1 by the piston 3 and filled with a magnetic viscous fluid, a piston passage L1 for communicating these chambers with each other, viscosity adjusting means 4 for adjusting a viscosity of the magnetic viscous fluid passing through the passage L1, a cylindrical case 6 forming an outer peripheral passage L2 between itself and the cylinder 1, a through hole L3 communicating the rod-side chamber r1 and the outer peripheral passage L2, a base passage L4 communicating the piston-side chamber r2 and the outer peripheral passage L2, a check valve V disposed in the base passage L4, and a free piston 5 for defining an air chamber r3 annularly formed, disposed at an outer periphery of a base rod 7 standing in the cylinder 1, and compensating an internal volume of the cylinder, in the cylinder 1. |
