The present invention relates to an access router and a handover control method using the same. The access router according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a communications unit that transmits and receives a message; a storage unit that stores an identifier and a locator of a mobile terminal and an identifier and a locator of an opponent terminal; and a control unit that controls so that, when a first mapping request message including the identifier and a new locator of the mobile terminal is received from a first access router to which the mobile terminal is newly connected, the stored locator of the mobile terminal is updated to the received new locator, a second mapping request message including the identifier and the new locator of the mobile terminal is transmitted to a second access router to which the opponent terminal is connected, and a third mapping request message including the identifier and the locator of the opponent terminal is transmitted to the first access router. |
