PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device with high luminance and a projector.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device comprises: an excitation light source consisting of a solid light-emitting element including GaN; and a phosphor layer for absorbing at least a part of excitation light emitted from the excitation light source, and emitting first light.
