PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device that includes cooling structure of an image modulation element, the cooling structure being made compact and having high cooling efficiency.SOLUTION: The projection type display device includes: first blowing means which is provided with a first suction part and a first exhaust part; second blowing means which is arranged orthogonally to the first blowing means, and is provided with a second suction part and a second exhaust part, and in which the second exhaust part is located at a position different in a height from the first exhaust part, and the second exhaust part is in the same exhaust direction as that of the first exhaust part; first air guide means which is connected to the first exhaust part, and maintains the same height as that of the first exhaust part; second air guide means which is connected to the second exhaust part, and maintains the same height as that of the second exhaust part; a first image modulation element which is cooled by the first air guide means; a second image modulation element which is cooled by the second air guide means; and a projection optical system that projects images to be displayed on the first image modulation element and the second image modulation element onto a projection plane. |
